Flyers covered with “hate-filled” slogans that were left on a Connecticut university campus this past Thursday night have prompted investigations from police and federal agents, according to the Hartford Courant. The incident occurred at Western Connecticut State University (WCSU), a public university located in Danbury. The flyers, printed on plain white paper, were reportedly found near a “residence and classroom hall” close to the school’s main green. On the flyers were the slogans “Islam is right about women” and “It’s OK to be white,” the Courant reported....

The Anchorage Police Department said on Friday that no one was injured during the avalanche, and no homes were damaged but added that people who live in houses nearby may not have road access, and may have limited utilities in the coming days. The avalanche occurred on a section of Hiland Road in Eagle River, Alaska which is part of the municipality of Anchorage. Access to close to 100 homes has been blocked due to the avalanche and there is no power in the area, according to Corey Young, communications director for the municipality of Anchorage, who spoke with Newsweek in an interview on Friday afternoon....

The Daily Mail reports that Kulwinder Singh, 41, has entered a plea of not guilty to charges that he killed his wife, Parwinder Kaur, in December 2013. Singh has stated that he came downstairs to find his wife consumed in flames. The Sydney Morning Herald says Kaur’s neighbors heard a scream. They saw Kaur in her driveway on fire from the neck down. The prosecution has stated that Singh intentionally set the fire, but defense lawyer Margaret Cunneen said Kaur was only seeking her husband’s attention....
