Margit, The Fell Omen, is one of the most popular and controversial bosses in Elden Ring as he is considered by many to be the first boss that puts up a tough fight. Many players new to Souls-like titles struggle with Margit and often spend multiple hours trying to defeat him. Meanwhile, some people have killed Margit in Elden Ring without taking a single hit, suggesting a wide disparity in skill level.

Nevertheless, most Elden Ring boss fights are usually very dramatic, particularly with Margit. Reddit user Same-Caterpillar1677 participated in one such nerve-wracking encounter with the famous Elden Ring boss. The user shared a video titled “My heart was pumping so fast” that shows an intense boss fight with Margit. The video begins with Same-Caterpillar1677’s player character and Margit facing one another at some distance. Interestingly, both the rivals have nearly zero HP and will fall after a single hit. Margit tries to take advantage of the distance with his spectral throwing knife attack, which the user dodges successfully.

Same-Caterpillar1677 continues to move around the fight area, evading Margit’s attacks in a desperate attempt to stay alive. As soon as they avoid the barrage of hits, Same-Caterpillar1677 takes advantage of the moment and lands a couple of blows, killing Margit. Naturally, the post was well received by the Elden Ring community on Reddit, as shown by nearly 8,000 upvotes and hundreds of comments. Most Redditors applauded the original poster for being highly mobile and avoiding oncoming attacks, while others suggested alternative strategies for similar future encounters. Notably, users stressed using ranged weapons like a bow or throwing daggers to inflict damage from a distance and remain relatively safe simultaneously.

As mentioned above, Margit is regarded as the first real boss in Elden Ring, and many consider him the best tutorial boss in a FromSoftware game. As players move northwards from Limgrave to Stormhill, they’ll come across Margit after defeating a string of different enemies. Although he is present in Stormveil Castle, the area only unlocks after defeating him.
