Inside was first released six years ago, yet there may still be those who have yet to play it for whatever reason. Anyone who has been curious about Inside or who liked Limbo and are wanting to see what else Playdead is capable of now have the perfect opportunity to see what all the fuss is about. Right now, Inside is enjoying a massive discount on the Nintendo Switch that has slashed its asking price by a whopping 90%, letting gamers buy the game for a mere $1.99.

This is an incredible discount, to say the least, and an absolute steal when one considers just how high quality of a game Inside is. Inside has an impressive 91 overall rating according to review aggregate site OpenCritic, and it won many awards at the time of its original release in 2016. According to the Inside reviews, critics were most impressed by its story, clever puzzle/platforming gameplay, and haunting atmosphere.
It’s been six years since Inside was first released, and so some fans may be growing anxious for Playdead’s third game. Playdead’s third game doesn’t have an official name at the time of this writing, but it’s going to be quite the departure from Limbo and Inside. Playdead’s third game is going to move away from the side-scrolling setup that Limbo and Inside have used, and it will be published by Epic Games.
While fans still don’t know when they can play Playdead’s third game, 2022 may still have a game that will help fill the gap. Playdead co-founder Dino Patti left Playdead years ago to form the new studio Jumpship, which is working on a game called Somerville that has some clear similarities with Limbo and Inside. Somerville may not be a puzzle/platformer like Limbo or Inside, but it appears to be going for the same creepy sci-fi vibes, and so it should still greatly appeal to fans of those games regardless.
Somerville will be a day one Xbox Game Pass game when it launches, and as it turns out, Inside is currently available on Game Pass well. So those that don’t have a Switch handy can potentially still try the game for relatively cheap.
Inside is out now for iOS, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
