On TikTok, the Russo brothers shared a hilarious meme of how they felt when they came across the scene in Loki that rendered the Infinity Stones completely useless. It turns out that the first three phases of the MCU, which were comprised of the Infinity Saga, were all controlled by the TVA and Loki makes sure to remind fans that the saga ended with Avengers: Endgame.

It all began when a ComicBook.com reporter posted a clip on TikTok using the psychedelic clown filter, along with the caption, “Everyone who thought the Infinity Stones were important.” The filter is quite popular on the social media platform, with users sharing some of their most embarrassing moments with just a video of their faces covered by the filter. The Russo brothers jumped on the bandwagon, with Joe using the clown filter and Anthony wearing an Infinity Gauntlet, and the caption reads, “#duet with @comicbook you’re telling us…”

The scene in question occurs when Loki first arrives at the TVA and he goes around the headquarters on a hunt for the Tesseract. He comes across a cabinet that contains objects that were confiscated by the TVA over the years, and in one cabinet, he finds both the Tesseract and a drawer full of Infinity Stones. All of them seem to have lost their power, which goes to hint that there were several attempts to steal the stones, but they were squashed by the TVA’s Minutemen.

It seems like the Russo brothers were just as clueless as Marvel fans when it came to what the Loki series had planned for the Infinity Stones. While Avengers: Endgame brought the Infinity Saga to an end, fans did not expect the stones to meet such a fate. They have played an extremely important role in the MCU so far, and after 13 years, they have been completely powered down. Moving forward, there are going to be other threats at play in the MCU and while fans are still shocked over the big Infinity Stones reveal, they are looking forward to what the future has in store.

Loki season 1 is now available on Disney Plus.
