Nevertheless, the creative director behind The Avengers Project, Shaun Escayg, recently took to Twitter to express his enthusiasm for the forthcoming game. While he didn’t say much, it’s worth mentioning that January 2019 will be two years since the announcement of the Avengers Project, and the developers have taken a “mum’s the word” approach to news for the title ever since.

From Escayg’s tweet, there are two standout factors. First, it mentions that the game itself is highly ambitious, potentially further hyping it for those who heavily desire its release. After all, with the success of Sony’s exclusive Spider-Man PS4 title and the ever-growing popularity of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there wouldn’t be a better time for AAA quality Marvel game like the Avengers Project.

Secondly, there is the vague description of news coming “when the time is right.” But sadly, there is no real indication as to when that may be. It could come at any time at the discretion of the developer studio Crystal Dynamics. Maybe an Avengers Project announcement will come alongside the release of Avengers: Endgame. Or maybe it’ll be E3 2019 before we hear anything.

At the end of the day, we simply know next-to-nothing more about the forthcoming Avengers Project (but we do know that it is not an Ultimate Alliance reboot). If Escayg’s tweet and the replies to it are any indications, however, then fans are in a treat with this one. While some may be disappointed with the long wait for news, others feel like the project will be well worth the wait to see the Avengers #reassemble.
